The Abacos Island choice is out of Marsh Harbor.

This is the island that got hit badly by Dorian 3 years ago.  Compared to Exumus out of Nassau, the boat costs are quite a discount (over 50%). We will be supporting local communities by leaving some tourist dollars there.

This trip is toward the end of the high season.  The price increases each week from Feb to the late in March.  Prices start to drop in April. For example the cost range is as much as $5800 in early Feb to $12000 per week in late March.

A $800 deposit is due immediately.   The balance will be due about 90 days before the trip.

Airfare Ideas

None at this time.

However, Joe might be driving cross country to visit chums in Florida first, and then fly from Orlando to Nassau.   Dorian might be taking a cross country air trip.  Likely, we will be going to Connecticut to see how our son is spending his graduate school money.

Sailboat Information

We are desiring a catamaran for this sailing grounds as there is many shallow areas that prevent a deep draft sloop from entering.  Also, there a many "Dorian-induced" wrecks below the surface.

Bali 40 Catamaran -- 2023 edition
(THIS SAILBOAT WAS WHAT WE ORDERED, BUT THEN, NOT AVAILABLE TO US.  LEARNED OF SUBSTITUTION ONLY ONE DAY BEFORE THE TRIP)

This boat's layout is very unique compared to the catamarans that LIG has rented in the past.  It will be a refreshing change.
